Sekhmet, Ancient Egyptian Warrior Goddess, Goddess of medicine and healing, Patron Goddess of doctors.
Sekhmet is most often depicted as a woman with the head of a lioness (which is symbolic of her fierce protectiveness and and warring prowess) often wearing a solar disk and the sacred serpent uraeus upon her head. With this stunning statue it is the serpents she proudly dons. Sekhmet was also associated with war, plague, chaos, the hot desert sun, pestilence and flames. She was indeed a fierce Goddess not to be trifled with. Her name actually translates to "she who is powerful" or "one who loves Ma'at"
Sekhmet was a solar deity that was believed to control the cosmos (including such feats as as being responsible for the movements of the moon, stars and planets) She was also the protector of the Pharaohs who bravely led them into battle and victory. As a healer she could tend the people of the kingdoms and was attributed with having the ability to heal broken bones and cure her people of diseases.
With so many attributions to her name she is a powerful Goddess to help you on your magical journey, call upon her in time's of chaos, illness or when bravery and confidence are needed.
